Inverter AC vs fixed-speed AC
Understand compressor modulation, comfort, electricity use, repair complexity and when an inverter AC premium makes sense.

An inverter AC varies compressor output to match the room load, which usually improves part-load efficiency and temperature stability. A fixed-speed AC switches the compressor on and off. Compare actual annual energy, price and warranty instead of choosing from the label alone.

How the difference feels
After the room approaches the set temperature, an inverter compressor can reduce output instead of repeatedly stopping. This can give steadier comfort and lower part-load consumption when the AC is correctly sized.
The word inverter does not guarantee quiet operation or low bills. Capacity, ISEER, installation, room heat load and usage pattern still determine the result.
Electricity and payback
Use the BEE annual-energy figure and your electricity tariff to compare shortlisted models. Multiply the annual unit difference by your tariff, then compare the saving with the price premium over the years you expect to keep the AC.
Light seasonal use can make payback slow; long daily use makes efficiency more valuable.
Reliability and warranty
Inverter models contain additional power electronics. Check PCB and compressor warranty separately, voltage operating range and whether surge protection is recommended. Warranty length alone is less useful than understanding what labour, gas and transport exclusions apply.
